Last week Tyler and I went on an amazing road trip. It’s been quite some time since I took a week off from work, so this trip was a much needed break.
Similar to our California trip a few years back, I will write a blog post for each day ( One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven). We packed so much into one day, that a single blog post about the whole trip would be a marathon of a post.
However, unlike with our trip to California, I endeavor to finish the blogs posts more quickly! I’m pretty sure I took at least six months to detail our week in California.
I’ll (try) to post a new blog post every Tuesday evening. So if you want to hear more about our adventures, be on the look out for new posts Tuesday evenings/Wednesday mornings!
As I complete blogs posts, I will update the list below with links. That way, if you miss an update, you can easily find the link.
Day One: Washington D.C., here we come!
Day Two: Shenandoah National Park
Day Three: Waterfalling everywhere, but no waterfall
Day Four: Grayson Highlands State Park, aka Wild Ponies!
Day Five: Grayson Highlands Part 2
Day Six: In which Morgan eats herself sick
Day Seven: Hiking Hen Wallow Falls in the Great Smoky Mountains
Day Eight: Nashville, our last day
Just a quick run-down of the trip. Tyler and I started by driving to Washington D.C. There we met up with Nancy, who came with us to Shenandoah National Park. Next, Tyler and I visited Grayson Highlands State Park in Virginia, before driving to North Carolina. We camped one night at Tsali, to springboard us into the Great Smoky Mountains. Finally, we stayed a night in Nashville visiting Ashley, a high school friend we hadn’t seen since our wedding two years prior.
Whew! It was a whirlwind of a trip, yet I wouldn’t change anything. Not even the day we spent four hours hiking in the rain without ever finding the waterfall.
Intrigued? Guess you will have to wait to hear more! I’ll add links to my facebook feed when I finish a new blog post. Check back on Tuesday night.
